The Machame Route, also known as the "Whiskey Route," is one of Kilimanjaro's most scenic and rewarding routes. It offers excellent acclimatization opportunities with breathtaking views of glaciers, valleys, and volcanic landscapes, making it one of the most popular choices for climbers.
Start trekking through dense rainforest to Machame Camp.
Continue through moorland to the beautiful Shira Plateau with views of Kibo Peak.
Trek to Lava Tower for acclimatization before descending to Barranco Camp.
Climb the famous Barranco Wall and continue through alpine terrain.
Prepare for the summit attempt. At midnight, climb to Uhuru Peak and descend to Barafu Camp.
Descend through rainforest to Mweka Gate and transfer back to Arusha.
